Back to Back - Doing a piece from one end to the other or placing throw-ups one after the other. (Also called "End to End").
Battle - Takes place when 2 writers or crews disagree on an issue.
Beef - Having public animosity with another writer / artist.
Black book - Book full of graffiti and / or stickers.
Blockbuster - A large piece, almost always done in a block shaped style.
Bombing - Getting up.
Bite - To steal another artist's ideas, style, or lettering schemes.
Bubble Letters - Old school graffiti style with rounded lettering, making it faster to put up.
Burn - To out do another artist's work.
Burner - Really good graffiti piece.
Buff - To remove or cover over art.
Capping - Conflict between writers going over each other.
Character - Cartoon figure. In some pieces, the character takes the place of a letter in the word.
Combo - Multiple stickers in one spot.
Cornbread - Often cited as the earliest writer of modern graffiti.
Crew - Group of writers or street artists.
CMYK - Four-color sticker printing.
Fats - Spray nozzle that comes out thicker and wider.
Flix - Photos, Flicks.
Freights - Trains.
Getting Up - Going out to make art continuously.
Graffiti - Unauthorized defacing of a building, wall or other edifice or object by painting or otherwise marking it with words, pictures or symbols.
Hand Styles - Specific styles of writing tags.
Heavens - Pieces in hard-to-reach places such as rooftops and freeway signs, thus making them hard to remove.

Hollow - Similar to a "throwup" a hollow is an outline but not filled in.

Slash - To put a line through or tag over another's artwork.
Snipe - Stealthy posting.
Snitch - Someone who tells on another.
Spot - Location for existing graffiti or ideal potential place.
Spot Jock - Going to same places as other artists.
Stencil - Cut out cardboard image for spray paint.
Sticker Art - Using stickers as graffiti art.
Street Art - Stencils, wheat pasting, stickering, etc.
Streak - Simple oil paint stick predominately used on trains.
Style Wars - Recognized as the most prolific graffiti film.
Tag - Artist's signature, normally done in one color.
Thins - Spray tips that comes out thinner.
Throw Up - Simple outlined one or two color graffiti image.
Up - Artists become up when their work becomes widespread and well-known
Top To Bottoms - Works which span the entire height of a subway car.
Toy - Person considered lame or whose style sucks.
Wack (Also spelled whack) - Refers to an ugly throw-up, tag or piece. If something "sucks", it is wack.
Wheat Paste - Homemade glue for putting up posters.
Wild Style - Form of graffiti writing using highly stylized letters.
